If you were the sorting hat, in what house of Hogwarts would you put the personalities? I know it depends on each person but I thought that based on the requirements of each house you could sort which of the personalities would most likely end up in that house.
Any personality type can wind up in any house. I’m evaluating based on what the four houses prize above all.
Gryffindor values bravery, daring, nerve, and chivalry.
Dominant Types: SPs and SJs.
SPs are quick to act and therefore daring in their actions. It takes some nerve not only to stand up to your enemies but also your friends. Chivalry is the honor code of SJs. Gryffindors are “doers” so they attract SPs (driven to action) and SJs (driven to using knowledge for a specific purpose — in most cases, protecting others).
Hufflepuff values hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play.
Dominant Types: NFPs, SFPs, and TJs.
Individuality is important to this house, showing an emphasis on Fi. The value of “hard work” appeals to TJs; patience appeals to NJs; loyalty is universal; and fair play revolves around a personal honor code that is self-enforced – Fi.
Ravenclaw values intelligence, knowledge, and wit.
Dominant Types: NTPs and NFJs.
Their highest pursuit is one of knowledge for its own sake, which appeals to NTPs (philosophy, higher learning, intelligence, and cleverness), but NFJs, known for their intense depth of understanding and greater desire to understand the inner-workings of things, will also excel there.
Slytherin values ambition, cunning and resourcefulness.
Dominant Types: NTJs, NFJs, and SPs.
Ambition revolves around developing an inner vision for one’s life and seeking to make it a reality, the highest function of NJs. They are all cunning and resourceful in pursuing their goals, although NFJs are better at recruiting others to their cause. Resourcefulness includes adaptation and use of one’s surroundings, which is heavily present in SPs (which is why some of Slytherin’s members are so reckless).
